Their quick humor, impassioned medical, nursing and people skills are true assets to any medical care center or hospital. They truly deserve to be recognized. Their commitment to ethics, care and compassion deserve to be acknowledged.
Nursing pins are thought to have been around since the Crusades. These nurses where called Knights Hospitallers. They wore white crosses on their uniforms which let others recognize who they were on the battlefield in the Holy Land. This Maltese cross is an eight pointed cross formed by 4 arrow heads. The eight point represent the beatitudes. It became quite a symbol for many groups caring for the sick such as the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. Since then throughout the years each nursing school designed their own nursing pin which is given out to nursing graduates.
We’ve all had the pleasure and blessing of being cared for from that very special nurse who made our world so much better when we are at our worst. Nursing Awards is proud to carry awards for these very special people. You are able to design your own recognition custom nursing pins or pick from our selection on hand.
